Starquest Maniac's wife here - Hello
My maniac husband suggested I post a question I have after doing some research on line. Oddly enough, it all started with me researching seborrheic dermatitis. "Seborrheic dermatitis is more common in men than in women, probably because sebaceous gland activity is under androgen control." After I read this my wheels started spinning. Is it possible that my natural androgen level is a little on the high side? I read somewhere else that one of the symptoms of women having higher androgen levels is having low thyroid hormones.
I'm getting ready to start a T-3 cycle as my metabolism has always been at a snails pace. My other question is, if a person has high androgen levels naturally, what effect would taking HGH alone have on my body?
I am 4'11" @ 125 lbs. I've been lifting weights for a year and half 3 x a week. I lift to grow so my last set is always go heavy. Since May 1, I have ramped up and do cardio 6 days a week between 30 - 60 min. My body fat % has dropped approx. 10% in the past year. My weight has only dropped 5 lbs since May and previous to that it wouldn't budge. I understand I've been building muscle and loosing fat but man I'd like to see that scale tip under 115! On a good note, I have considerably & consistently been dropping inches.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!!!!!!!!!!

You might want to PM Sister Steel to help you out with this one or maybe she will see it.

Is the diet on pace?
Also what about talking to the doctors about getting a t4 or t3 replacement.

My diet is good. Lots of protein, moderate amount of carbs and low fat intake. I drink at least half gallon of water a day, 2 cups of coffee in the morning. Juice & soda at most once a week. And no, I have not seen a doctor but have been thinking about seeing one to get some blood work done.

before you supplement anything from a source, i would get your DR to check it out and prescribe you a proper amount of thyroid. I think once you find that your natural levels are up to par you will find it alot easier to drop weight. How come this hasnt been taken care of if you knew that your thyroid output was low?

I see people all up & down on this forum supplementing with t3 in order to cut. Do you mean to tell me that everyone goes to the doctor first? I don't know for sure that I have a thyroid problem per se. I've always been a little on the overweight side and through out my life I've never been able to reach "suggested weight" for my height. If I train real hard I only reach as low as 10 lbs. over the highest suggested weight. I danced ballet at an early age, played sports in school, trained in the army, now lifting weights and I never reach my goal.

First off, those "suggested" weights are made from the insurance companies. I know I worked for them for years and they don't mean shit to be quite blunt.
What matter is your bdoyfat level not the BMI or the suggested weight for a certain height chart. Those are complete BS.
Yes I would suggest you go see a doc and see if everything is ok. Does everyone do that, no. Plain and simple but than again how many women are on this board? VERY FEW and AAS and certain supplements affect women MUCH differently than men.
I suggest you PM Sistersteel and get her help. She has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to diet, AAS, training, cardio, and supplementation. And has worked with everyone involved in every sport, men and women.

Im not saying that eveyrone who uses t3 needs to be tested before hand for low thyroid. I was just saying that you have discovered through your research that you may have low thyroid so I was just suggesting why not get it tested and maybe paid through insurance. Just saying its something to think about

Thank you all for taking the time to view my post. I'll send Sister Steele a PM to get her input on this. I do agree that it is a good idea to get blood work done before starting any cycle as we should know where are levels are. (unfortunately, I don't have insurance so I'll just have to pay out of pocket). What do you guys think about what effect HGH will have on someone (like me) having naturally high androgen levels?

before turning to substance have you ever looked into getting a nutritionist to plan your diet for you. Because unless you truly do have a thyroid problem your success at weight loss is going to be 99.9% diet.
And bump to what BI said those charts are horse SH#$ by insurance and government BMI standards im morbidly obese, yet I measure at 10% bodyfat. What you see in the mirrior is worth more than any chart or bodyfat test.
