First time to use

Well tonight was the first time to ever use chalk while doing dead lifts. I must say, I think it spoiled me as I don't like using straps or gloves I feel as if they make your grip weaker. I saw it sitting in an everlast plastic box thing in the corner and I was like ahhh hell it's on like donkey kong now!!! Chalked up the ol' hands at went at the deads. I wish the gyms I have worked out in back in the States had this shit. Gotta love the Army!!! So my question is, how many of you used/have used chalk and will your gyms allow it and did you like it over gloves/straps?

Perhaps not even. How many more times will you watch the full moon rise? Perhaps 20. And yet it all seems limitless.

Chalk is a MUST when it comes to Oly Lifting. I have ALWAYS been a big fan of chalk. See how much better your grip was by just chalking your hands? Straps take away from the work performed on your forearms while lifting the weight.

I don't think straps are a good idea unless you have an injury or issue which is forcing you to use them but don't let them become a crutch.

As you know BI and I train at Coffee's and there are multiple chalk boxes in that place b/c everyone uses it. Even if you don't belong to a gym which has it you can always bring it in on your own. Just get a chalk bag from REI or any other place which sells rock climbing gear and fill it with the chalk. Than you good to go.

Yeah bud I chalk my hands for everything believe it or not. I chalk them with ALL pulling movements but also for bench, squats, anything that has me grabbing a bar. I sweat like a maniac and the chalk helps me get a better grip which is key to lifting heavier.

I am going to start doing this too as the gym here in Iraq gets pretty darn warm especially when I do abs between exercises. and start off with 10 minutes of cardio pre-workout
